非《Just Dance》莫!属!

Just Dance is one of the most popular

Music & Dance Video Games all over the world.

Debuted a decade ago, it has hundreds of millions of users worldwide. As an ever-phenomenal game, it was reported by The New York Times, which has a monthly view of 94,270,000 times. Even the former US president Barack Obama is a fan.

As a frequent champion on the Music Video Games Chart, Just Dance has already become a global pop culture phenomenon. One reason for its success is the World Dance Floor option which enables dancers across the world to dance together.

Why do I talk about Just Dance?

A piece of Chengdu music was included in the list of Just Dance 2020’s World Dance Floor and dancers around the world can dance to Chengdu rhythm now.

Let’s watch the video below.

It is a rap song featuring Sichuan Opera. The song is called My New Clothes. The singer is VAVA, a female rapper from Sichuan.

Just imagine how players across the world are dancing to the rap in Chengdu dialect, "I come from Chengdu. Chengdu is my blissing. I wear whatever I want to wear. I don’t care the brand because clothes are made for me to wear not the other way around."

Wait a minute, aren’t the last few

lyrics telling us about Chengduer’s dress code?

Now the whole world knows it thanks to Just Dance.

The trendsetters we interviewed in Taikoo

Li Chengdu from our recent "Your Turn" said something similar.

Here is the interview.

Have you got it?

Here, we highlighted it for you.

Chengdu Plus has posted the video

on our Facebook account to introduce

Chengduer’s dress code to our overseas followers.

It turned out that our overseas

followers did like it.

On July 9, @PRADUH, a fashion blogger on Twitter tweeted a street snaps video in Taikoo Li Chengdu. It was viewed 18,000,000 times, retweeted 339,000 times and got 1,310,000 likes. No wonder it became one of the most searched hashtags.

In fact, long before Taikoo Li Chengdu

came into being, Chengduers were known to

have a unique fashion sense in China.

In the early 1980s, thanks to the policy of economic reform and opening up, fashionable clothes appeared in Chengdu’s Qingnian Road market, therefore began Chengduer’s pursuit of fashion.

In the 1990s, Chengdu’s clothing market boomed and boutiques crowded into Chunxi road. Clothes sellers began to apply marketing strategies to promote sales such as having models photographed or give a fashion show.

From then on, there has been trending street snaps in Chengdu. Slicked back hair, beepers, fur coats, sunglasses and other fashionable showed up on the streets and are still charming even today.

A photographer named Luo Mingyi recorded the trendsetters on Chengdu’s streets in the 1990s.

High-rise loose pants, straw hat and fringe shoulder, they were deemed as fashion in the 1990s in Chengdu.

These are valuable records that witnessed the material and spiritual prosperity of Chengdu people. It’s safe to say that this is the origin of todays’ street snaps in Taikoo Li Chengdu.

The street snaps, be it in Taikoo Li Chengdu or from the 1980s and 1990s, show Chengduer’s confidence in fashion. They value the beauty that comes from not being afraid to be true to oneself.

As is sang in My New Clothes, "I come from Chengdu. Chengdu is my blissing. I wear whatever I want to wear. I don’t care the brand because clothes are made for me to wear not the other way around."
